This course intends to provide a basic understanding of what is legal project management and how it may be applied to recovery and economic development projects.  The workshop will offer basic tools that the participants will be able to implement right away to manage projects in the legal and disaster recovery settings. We will share examples and benefits of implementing legal project management, and what sets it apart from the traditional framework of project management.

The purpose of this course if for participants to feel confident in creating an advocacy plan to advocate in the legislature on energy issues that affect them. In the course, they will learn about lobbying strategies and how to make a power map to identify potential supporters or opponents. Additionally, they will be able to recognize the recourses that will help investigate the problem they intend to solve.

SBA, WOSB, 8A and HUBZone Programs Certification Vía ZOOM

This course will rigorously study how the SBA Small Business Certification Programs fuel the growth of small businesses by providing certification for preferential access to federal contracts and competitive advantage. Also, the workshop will describe prime and subcontracting assistance programs, SBA certification programs (such as 8(a), HUBZone, WOSB and EDWOSB), the Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned and the Small Disadvantaged Business Certifications. Finally, it will provide a more in-depth learning for the HUBZone Certification, its benefit, eligibility, and the complete process of application.
